About Suzuki Method
As a Suzuki music student myself growing up, I know first hand the positive and encouraging nature of Suzuki piano lessons.
Suzuki Music Education promotes the very best in its students. The method proudly believes that every child has the potential to be a great musician and a great human being. This belief of positivity and nurturing is the basis for music lessons and gives students the confidence to jump in with excitement and belief in themselves, instead of fear of making a mistake like with some other methodologies.
Suzuki Method promotes kindness and belief of musical ability. This belief inspires a child to strive for their best, all whilst feeling great happiness towards music.
Suzuki Method requires parental involvement, encouraging students emotionally, practicing at home, but also in the listening of audio CD. The CD prepares students for upcoming pieces and sharpens their listening skills. And there's a wonderful happiness in a classroom where parents hum along while their children play! This makes students (and me) so happy!
Suzuki believed every child had the ability to learn, and that talent was not a gift given at birth. It is a method that encourages teachers to work with a child at his/her individual learning rates so a child has a positive and rewarding music journey.
I grew up happy and excited to learn the piano. It is why I wanted to become a teacher in the method myself.
Learning with love.
